Viasat Baltic, part of Modern Times Group, provides the play out services for 22 TV channels which are broadcast to 8 million viewers in 14 countries across Europe and Africa. 9 out of 22 channels require content localised to 4 languages.
This customer wanted a system to improve efficiency in their localisation ordering and tracking process. Relying on labour intensive manual processes (Excel, email, lookups in multiple systems/databases) for workflow and asset management made it difficult to track their high throughput of assets and catch (and fix) costly errors before transmission. With knowledge of MediaTrack from a separate implementation within their company, Viasat Baltic hoped to benefit from a similar setup as part of a transmission upgrade programme.
Screen collaborated closely with its sister company SDI Media (also the customer’s localisation supplier) to provide Viasat Baltic its MediaTrack – Broadcast Manager “Plus” system, with integrated ordering capability. The MediaTrack solution automates scheduling, transmits localisation orders directly into SDI systems, and provides end-to-end visibility and tracking against transmission schedules through the localisation workflow.
