Today’s compressed production cycles, combined with requirements for easier global distribution and high definition are driving a shift to file-based workflows. To reduce operational costs, improve productivity and deliver quicker ROI, broadcasters need to ensure they have a full captioning/subtitling solution ready as they make the transition.
This paper takes a brief look at the history of captioning and explains how we got to where we are today. It presents the various challenges and issues associated with captions and subtitles in file-based workflows and proposes practical steps to help solve these issues with using Dalet AmberFin’s iCR.
